Has anyone tried to use PowerHome to implement special functionality for triple taps on SwitchLinc V2s? I know double tap will internally cause the lamp to go to Dim Level 255 at Ramp Rate 31. I read elsewhere that SwithcLincs send a special formatted X-10 command for multiple taps but I would prefer to not enable X-10 mode on my switches. Any ideas?

Chuck,
I know the switches don't send out a special command on multiple taps for Insteon like the do with X-10 and Im not sure if they would even send the on/off command multiple times. If they do and the SDM can see the individual taps, then you should be able to setup a trigger to handle this.
I'll play with the SDM and my switches and see if this is a reliable/repeatable behaviour. If so, I'll work up the trigger routine for you and post it here.

Chuck,
Tested it out and no go  . Triple taps do not send three separate commands or any discernable way to determine that a triple tap was triggered.
However...I did discover something about double taps that I was previously unaware of. A standard tap sends an Insteon "ON" command. A double tap sends a single command but sends an Insteon "FastOn" command. Using PowerHome and triggers, you could cause two different things to happen using just Insteon triggers (no X-10 config necessary) on "On" and "FastOn". This also works when tapping and double-tapping the off key. You get an "Off" and "FastOff" respectively.
Sorry about the triple taps.

Right after your previous post (March 09 2006 at 20:20),I did some searching around and found info about double taps on Indigo's forum. That prompted me to look at the PowerHome event logs and come to the same conclusion about double taps that you did. I'm thinking right now I might set up macros such that a double tap in any given room will act like "All On" for that room. That should work out well in my kitchen which has 4 entrances and a different light circuit switch at each entrance. This is getting good!

And a double off tap does an "All Off" for the room! Very nice feature!
