There was a short thread on this board in Dec about NeoSpeech so I decided to check it out. The voices are truely amazing. It is the only voice that meets the WAF. Sounds natural and not computer like at all. I've been using it for a couple of months now to announce the time and weather hourly. There is no delay in the voices (as was described in the prior thread).

My macro question relates to changing the voice from one speaker to another in a macro (just for the heck of it). I've tried:
ph_chgspeaker ( "VM PAUL" ) and ph_chgspeaker ("Microsoft SAM") and various other combinations like putting it in a variable, but the voice doesn't change. The formula evaluates to 0.

 Any suggestions?

Yes the NeoSpeech voices are pretty cool. If you've got a decent enough machine, then there probably won't be any delay. Ive also got the AT&T natural voices, but never had a chance to load them yet. Hopefully I'll get around to it soon and be able to check them out as well.

The ph_chgspeaker function is only for the Voice Reconition (to change different training profiles) and has no effect on TTS.

I'll add a note to include a new function that will allow you to change the TTS voice on the fly. It should be simple enough to do so it should make it into the next beta.

 Dave.

Thanks for the ph_chgspeaker info. It wasn't obvious to me that its use was for Voice Recognition and not TSS. As to the new function, don't put it on top of your list. It was just a for fun thing and not really necessary.

Every time I turn around there is some new, interesting thing I find I can do with Power-Home! It's great!
