I have question that has me stumped, I am looking for ideas.
I sometimes use the "line-out" of my Echo Dot to play music throughout the house.
I do this by routing the "line-out" from the Dot into my PH computer (for volume control), and then out to various amps around the house.
My question is: How can I programmatically determine when I have sound coming into and then back out of the computer (sound from the Dot, or any other input source for that matter)?
I ask because I run into the use case where Amazon music is being played (somewhat loudly)throughout the house, and then PH wants to make an announcement and doesn't alter the volume properly (because it didn't know I was using the "line-in" of the Dot). Is there a way for PH to sense when a "line-in" is active?
If not, I guess I will just have to have my "Party Mode" macro set a global variable to stop any PH system announcements.
