I looked too, and it does seem to have been removed and his website makes no mention of it.
If you have previously purchased the app, you should be able to sync the app to the new device from the same library.

Thanks for the tip. That worked. Too bad about the program though.

So does that mean the app is dead and no longer available?

Long story short iHome Audio (http://www.ihomeaudio.com/) made us take
it down. We talked with a lawyer and talked to their lawyers. In the end their
clame was a load of BS but the cost of fighting it would have been a lot more
than iHome was worth so we took it down. We are planning to rerelease it
under a new name at some point.

Sounds like they made some sort of trademark claim. So, I guess you just have to replace the iHome name throughout the software and resubmit it to Apple?

Basically. The problem is that I don't have the bundle ID now. So existing
users can't get updates without purchasing the new app and settings
wont transfer.
I think I will do something like what GV Mobile+ did (make the new app
free for 24 hours) to make up for the forced re-purchase issue. I would
give everyone a few days warning.
Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about the lost settings.
I also need a new name and icon to go with it. If anyone has ideas I am
open to suggestions.

The good news is that I am finally getting to cleaning up the mess that is
my PH setup. It always starts with cleaning up broken links and turns into
adding features to the app.
If anyone has ideas for new features please let me know.
I really like the floor plan control thing that Indigo has. Im not sure how it
would work, but I want something like that for my house.
I am also thinking some kind of integration for thermostat control. The
only problem with that is most of it would need something on the PH end
tracking things. I don't really like the idea of requiring a user to have
triggers and timed events setup for it to work.
I am also considering a Chrome extension. Again not sure how it would
work.

Well, as someone just getting ready to build a system on PowerHome, I never had the pleasure of seeing your first iPhone app. But iPhone (actually iPad)functionality is definitely something I want to incorporate into my overall system. I just don't know what to tell you at this point about "new" features. It will all be new to me!
I did spend a good bit of time today perusing the App Store for home automation utilities. All I can say is that some applications *look* better than others. When it comes to iPhone/iPad, "eye candy" is all important (next to functionality).
Best wishes with the new app. I'll be watching for it.

With the old button layout paging makes sense. The new
button view lets
you draw buttons on a canvas. Would you rather have a
canvas
that you can pinch/zoom and pan or multiple
canvases/pages? Either way
it will be in the app. I have played with both and can't
really decide.
|
|
|
Is there a way to do both? I envision that I could use
both when I have a lot of buttons that I want to keep
together one page, but have separate pages for different
groups. |
|
|
Ill look into it. |
|
|
I am personally okay with incremental updates. I welcome
iHome 2.0 with the current changes and can wait for
button views. Thanks for a great app.

I have released iHome 2 under the name ctrlHome. It is exactly the same as
iHome2 was at this point but this is where all future updates will be
released. I do have some promo codes for those of you that are interested.

Unfortunately everyone will have to buy it again since it is a new app. Apple
doesn't give developers any control over that.
