As the user who can't get the buttons to save in Ver 2, I would like to see Ver 1 available. At least it functioned as a most basic interface with Powerhome.

I think my comment was very helpful!
It generated a response that had not been forthcoming and maybe an
interest in saving the reputation of the product and its author. Once a
product is viewed as defective and not supported you have a mountain to
climb for any future product acceptance. It is only necessary to look at
the product whose forum this topic is on. Powerhome is viewed as a great
product with excellent support not because it is defect free but because
the author has jumped through hoops to identify and resolve problems. If
one is not prepared to provide support and solutions no matter what the
cost in time and effort one should get out of the business. Sorry if you
find that offensive. I was a professional programmer for more than 30
years so I speak from a position of some experience.

I call it a hobby so that I can justify that amount of time I have put into it
compared to the amount of money that comes from it. If I look at it from
a business prospective I should have walked away from iHome a long time
ago. Doing the math I make less than $0.50 an hour working on iHome.
For a hobby that's pretty good. Most hobbies cost money.
Although I don't agree with your approach here I do understand it. With
the timing of other project deadlines I have decided to put things on hold
and work on iHome over the weekend.
I will be adding iHome to the project management / bug tracking system I
have set up for the other Invisions apps. I will open up the bug tracking
portion and post an email address to report bugs to.

To report bugs send an email to ihome@support.invisionsta.com. You can
track progress at
http://project.in
visionsta.com/projects/ihome/issues
I have added the saving bug already.

Well done. The cost of maintenance often exceeds the cost of development. That is one of the reasons shipping a product with as few defects as possible is so critical. Not to mention how much the user appreciates a product that works.

I presently have no dog in ths race....but soon my Iphone 4 will arrive.
Has most of the recent issues been resolved, or has this "gone dark"?

The only known issue at this point is a case where the orientation of the
app reverts to vertical when the device is horizontal. It only affects
iPhones, the iPad does not have this issue.
At this point x-10 support has been dropped. I do plan to add it back
someday.
I am running iHome on my iPhone 3G with iOS 4 GM and it works great. I
will be getting an iPhone 4 as well. I am planning to release an update
soon after the launch with any fixes that are needed.

I just bought iHome today. Good beginning with some great features but tapping Groups and Buttons crashes the program. Also crashes after running a macro command. I am running the latest Touch with 3.1.3 update.

It sounds like a communication issue. What does the PH log show? You may
have to turn on web logging to see it.

Kevin,
While I am enjoying the stability of the most recent
version, I would again give my encouragement to adding
back formulas for buttons.
Having that ability and losing it is annoying, but even
just generally it's a powerful addition to the product.
Thanks to all the help I've received on the forums, I now
make heavy use of the macroparm function, and without
formulas that functionality is lost with iHome. It means
having to create individual macros for everything (which
defeats the purpose of using macroparm in the first
place).
Again, thanks for the product. But if you are collecting
votes, I cast two for adding formulas back.

Im glad to hear the update is more stable. I am still getting one error I am
seeing in the reports but I have no idea what people are doing to cause
the error. The reports don't really tell me anything. If you or anyone out
there is having problems with the app please let me know.
I will keep both of those in mind next time I am working on iHome. The
database changes that were stopping me from looking into it will be much
easier than I had expected. Adding x-10 is now reasonable as well.
I will realistically be a few months though.
Is anyone missing x-10 support? I personally don't have any x-10.

Pressing the "Buttons" makes four log entries then crashes -

Well all four of those are updating the status. The device control
command is missing. What is the name if the device/group/macro?

I am running the latest version os (3.1.3) on an ipod
touch. When I open ihome2, any tab that is empty, causes
ihome to close immediately. For example, I have no groups
and no buttons. If i open either of those, ihome shuts
down. Obviously, i cannot create any buttons with this
happening.
Also, in the web interface, the buttons in control center
do not work for me.
UPDATE****
The developer has found the reason for my issues and is
promptly issuing an update through the app store.
Outstanding!

Well, I took the plunge and updated my original iHome app on my iPhone now running IOS 4.0 to the current version of iHome 2.1.1 and all went very well. No issues found so far but it would be great to be able to set button dimensions either globally or by numeric size and to have them auto align or snap to grid. I know it sounds anal but guess that's a me thing.
Something for the wish list

It will be a while but the next big feature will be a better way to layout and configure the buttons. Not sure how it will work but I am leaning towards a web based setup/config tool that would sync with the device in addition to what is already there.

I'm happy to report that the latest upgrade seem to have solved whatever problems I was having.
My suggestion is to have a way to set the Button window as the opening screen.

Glad to hear things are working.
You can do this. There is a setting in the Settings app that will let you
choose what view iHome should open in.

Kevin,
Is iHome2 gone from the app store? I need to reinstall it on my ipod touch.
