The first one didn't work on both machines, the spare CM11a works on the HA-server however it worked for a few minutes and then it was just D7 decodes...
maybe the HA-server hardware? I am fully confused now.

Got a brand new CM11a today:
Outgoing works as normal, incoming is still a problem...
So I can safely say:
the CM11a was toast
the HA-server (PC) makes trouble.... Is this a windows problem or a hardware problem?

been playing around with the Laptop AND the HA-Server:
The HA-Server has the brand new CM11a
The Laptop has the Spare CM11a
The Laptop receives incoming X10 the HA-server doesn't!
Switched the CM11a's and the same result.
When X10 sent from the laptop, the HA-server doesn't receive, the other way around, the laptop does receive...
the conclusion:
the HA-server is also toast, this could be hardware but also be software... how do I find this out?

As a last resort I am now upgrading the OS on my HA-server
to Windows 2000 pro... let's hope for the best
Update: a few hours later: W2000 runs, no dice:
Powerhome doesn't let me into the database, the controlersettings are gone and I can't add a new controler.
I get an error SQL-STATE=3700....
After putting a backup back, there is still no solution...
I have taken the HA-server off-line... Still getting the 3700 error...

Peter,
I checked out the screenshot and can see that the problem lies with the creation of the controller. It didnt provide the details for me however.
I see that you've copied the backup DB over the installed version, etc. but somehow the controller settings were lost. Do you use VNC or similar and would it be possible for me to remote in to try and determine what the problem is?
Dave.

I am going to install VNC onto the HA-Server, which method do you prefer? the Java Method or the VNC method? I will open the ports in my Router for VNC and disable the proxyserver for traffic to and from the HA-Server, so give me a few hours. The Password for VNC and my IP-address I wil mail to you... I have a broken shift today (which means I have 2 shorts shifts today with a break of 4 hours) so in those 4 hours I'll make the adjustments...
