Dave,
I know you're really busy, but maybe something to add to the list would be to have the new cut and paste feature work for editing the CC also.
Thanks,

gg,
I'll add it to the todo list. In the meantime, not sure if you're aware or not, you have this capability from the CC Design view. While editing a CC in design view (right click a CC tab from the Control Center or from the PH Explorer) and select "Design". You can then highlight controls by Control-clicking them or by drawing a rectangle (right click on empty space and drag until the rectangle goes through or encloses all desired items). You can also use the Control key to draw multiple rectangles.
With your controls highlighted, from the Design menu (or toolbar), select either Copy (shift-F10) or Copy to Tab (shift-F9). Copy will make a copy on the current tab. Copy to Tab will open a dialog so you can select the tab you'd like to copy the controls to.
Hope this helps,
Dave.

Pete,
Glad to hear you got it working. The original error would have been from running the 2.1.4 phupg.exe so you may not have completely uninstalled previous versions. This is different from what we used to do but will now be a necessity going forward (at least for any install that was originally InstallShield -version 2.1.2 and earlier to the new Inno installer - version 2.1.5 forward). This is due to some incompatibility between the old installer and the new installer and *shouldnt* be an issue going forward upgrading from the same installer.
Hope this helps,
Dave.

Pete,
I'll definitely have to look into this. This upgrade utility was a bear because I upgraded the database from Adaptive Server Anywhere 7 to SQL Anywhere 11 and the two formats are incompatible. This forces me to connect first to ASA7, export a table in XML format, connect to SQLANY 11 and import the XML and then back and forth until all the tables are complete. I suspect something may not be completely right with the XML (it should preserve an underscore) but will need to check in it.
Thanks for reporting this.
Dave.

Pete,
From PowerHome Explorer under Controllers, change your controller type to "Insteon SmartLinc" (this is what the Insteon Hub, SmartLinc, and old NetLinc will use). Once the controller type is correct, press the settings button and you can set the IP (and other parameters) of your hub.
Hope this helps,
Dave.

Dave, did try Smartlinc using 192.168.1.164:9761 but would not connect. It will connect using VSP.

Pete,
Don't enter a port number...IP only. The 9761 port is already hardcoded into the controller object.

This is a long shot, as I would guess you have already
checked it, but is there any chance the USB port number
in your PH Setup is pointing to the incorrect port?
I don't recall what PH defaults that port number to, but
it is usually not correct when I do new installs and I
have to go to Device Manager and get some idea of what
USB ports are connected to something, and then play with
the PH Setting until I find the correct PLM port.
NOTE: DAVE - It would be a nice feature to have an "auto
find" function in PH that locates the correct USB port.

Hi Dave:
Further to the problem with the 2414U not being
recognized by PH:
SDM finds the PLC on USB4
Looking at the configuration under Maintenance |
Powerhome Explorer | setup | Controllers the settings
are as follows:
Load Order: 10
ID: Insteon
Controller Type: Insteon DM
Active: Checked
Clicking on the settings for that type brings up a bunch
of options but not one for com port.
I looked through all the different types and the only one
with a comport that I could see was Insteon PLM and after
setting the com port to 4 it still responds an error,
which was just wishful thinking on my part.
If this is going to be a problem for you, then maybe it's
time to invent in a new controller, i know mine has the
chisel marks on it from the caveman who made it.
Update:
I checked the folder C:\powerhome\SmartHome\device
manager and it has a sdm3.exe file in it. It is there.
The file gives a version of 1.01.138.308. in the task
tray there is a "connection" icon, and when I click on
"Execute is Responding in browser" using
http://localhost:9020/index.txt?isResponding it returns
isresponding=True
Thanks.
Mike

The old PLC is interfaced through SDM3 by PH, not a Comm
Port.
That is why no Comm Port shown in the Setup for a PLC.
Is there an SDM3.exe in the Smarthome/device manager/
directory

2.1.5 Bug?
I just discovered that my 2441TH Insteon Thermostat is
not connecting to PH at all, thus the FAILED flag gets
set for it.
If I select that Stat in the Insteon Explorer Devices tab
and click on the "Options" button, a blank white screen
appears (ie, null option set). Since that is the only
device I have discovered so far that responds that way,
I'm assuming a bug.
Does anyone else have working 2441TH in 2.1.5?
**** Just discovered that the "EZIO2X4" (31274 I/O
device) also displays a blank Options screen and that
device does not appear to be working for me either, as I
am getting no readings from it for it's connected
switches.

Dave,
If you select "options" on a Keypad device in the Tab in
Insteon Explorer... there is still a KPL tab. Was this
intended to be removed or was it just relocated from the
main tab? I know not all Insteon KPLs supported it.
The only reason I looked at it was I noticed in my event
log incoming x10 to my PLM. I was wondering if I could see
if an x10 address was assigned to my KPL. I have no X10
controllers & I thought x10 was off on all my devices.

BUG REPORT: Found this critical error in log. There has been a lot of intermittent PLM errors showing up. Haven't isolated that one yet.

UPDATE: Have not seen controller errors since switching to Hub. But then I wouldn't expect them. Will test another controller later.

I see that BOTH of my Insteon Thermostats (2441V and
2441TH) have disappeared. They are gone from the IE Device
Status window and I don't think I am getting any data feeds
from them, and I am getting no analog or digital readings
from my EZIO2X4 I/O module at all.
Am I missing new setup procedures to follow, or is this a
2.1.5 issue?

Attempting to change out a bad Insteon device I discovered
that the "Replace Address" field in the Devices Tab, seems
to throw an invalid error comment. It will not let me use
an address of "18.6A.CF"
It displays a "Data Window Error" proper address is...

Mike,
Your controller setup looks good. Using a PLC (vs PLM), you would only use a controller type of Insteon DM which doesnt have a setting for port as the SDM will determine it automatically.
It would seem though that you have more than one version of the SDM on your machine and that may be what is causing the problem. PowerHome is designed to work with the one in its directory (c:\powerhome\SmartHome\Device Manager). If you manually launch this version (kill any running versions using task manager first) and establish a connection, next launch PowerHome and see if it will connect to the running SDM. Once you get this connection linked, then PowerHome should be able to start it up automatically.
Don't worry about getting a new controller if you've been happy with the PLC. We should be able to get it working one way or the other.
Dave.

Ken,
The behaviour you describe is normal. Not every Insteon device has options to be set and/or I have not added code for every device. These devices will display the blank screen. I'll try to add a message to the effect "No options available" so that it doesnt confuse in the future.
Im currently on 2.1.5 and have both my upstairs and downstairs thermostats working fine so we should be able to get you working as well.
Since you say PH is flagging it disabled, it may just be a simple matter that the PLM does not have their addresses within its database. Can you post an excerpt from the Insteon log that shows how the comms are failing with the thermostat?
Thanks,
Dave.

Pete,
You likely have a custom sort or filter that is not compatible with the new version of the Device Status (it changed quite a bit internally even though it looks the same). Try clicking on both the sort and filter buttons at the top and rebuilding a new sort and filter. This should solve the error.
Let me know,
Dave.
