Running 2.1.4 with PLM now... Just noticed what I think is a minor bug. If you go to Insteon Explorer and select a device to control and choose Flash... You have to kill powerhome to stop it :)

No issue with stopping Flash here either. 2.1.4 Win Xp.
Dave:
What are the TEMP vars for the Insteon Comm Fail trigger?
SHOW VARS: TEMP1=INSTEON DEV FAIL TEMP2=0 TEMP3=3 TEMP4=5 TEMP5= TEMP6=52 TEMP7=[ANY] TEMP8=0 TEMP9=1 TEMP10=0E.28.B0
TEMP1: Trigger Name
TEMP2: ?
TEMP3: Fail Count?
...
TEMP10: Address obviously...
And there are no local vars? Would have been useful to have a var with the ID of device, but i suppose I can get it from the address.

I can duplicate that if the PLM is NOT active. But I can get around it if I click Flash again then exit.

Maybe it's just me then... No big deal. I just wanted to test something today and that was the quick way. PH actually does the on/off and the device cycles, but PH has hourglass and you can't click on anything. Maybe it's a resource problem. The machine isn't a monster box by any means but it is dedicated to just Powerhome. XP P4 2.4GHz with 640MB ram.

It may be a configuration problem with controller and/or devices under setup. Your hardware looks fine. It doesn’t take much to run PH.

I have a PowerLinc Dual Band Serial Modem (Serial) 2413S Firmware Rev 1.5 - 1122.
I have the Device Type for the Modem set to 2412S - Powerlinc Modem Serial... PH doesn't have a 2413S... Should I have something else set?
I have notice that some of my group commands not all of the devices are changing state and a you have to send it again. My communication was almost %100 with my PLC.
Thanks for your input.

The 2413 PLM is functionally equivalent to the 2412 PLM. The 2413 supports a smaller number of link records (1000+ versus 2000+). The Dual Band capability of the 2413 is completely automatic. There is no control over that capability nor any configuration. When the 2413 link records are loaded be sure to use the Add Full option.
Look at the PLC Controller definition and use the same PH2 options. Hard to suggest which options should be checked as it depends on how PH2 is used.

Hello everyone,
I see that there is a new version of PH but no link on the
main website, is it still in beta? What is the currently
supported / stable release of PH?
@grif091; I see from your post that the new dual band PLM
has reduced the number of links that you can have, is that
true with this device? Are there any advantages to going
dual band?

I think all PH2 releases are Betas. I believe it has something to do with what is required to declare an Insteon related product a release.
The 2413 Dual Band PLM does support approx 1000 link records compared to the 2000+ supported by the now unavailable 2412 PLM. Very unlikely this would be a limitation. The 2413 PLM has RF capability built in so it should make the Insteon network more reliable. It has a faster processor which some folks have noted faster powerline interaction.
2.1.4 is the last release, nearly a year ago. Install 2.1.2 first, then 2.1.4 (fixes) over that. Hoping to see 2.1.5 in a few months.

Grif,
I cannot find where to download the updates? I have installed 2.1b but have not updated beyond that. When I go to help it says 2.1b, so I am confused of how everyone is discussing the different version of PH.

Best read Page 1 of this topic as it covers the install of 2.1.2 and some good documentation on the new stuff in 2.1.2. I suggest going over all the posts in this topic. Many are related to documenting problems or questions which can be skipped or read as you feel appropriate. Page 5 of this topic has the announce of the 2.1.4 fixes zip file. I copied the link from that post below.

So to run the latest version, I first have to migrate to 2.1.2, then unzip 2.13 over 2.1.2 and then unzip 2.1.4 over 2.1.3?
What is the latest beta version?

The install of 2.1.3 zip can be skipped as the 2.1.4 zip contains all the fixes in 2.1.3. 2.1.4 zip when applied over 2.1.2 is the latest. 2.1.5 will be the next beta release when it is available.

Hi,
If I am not posting this error correctly or if I am not posting it in the correct location, please feel free to point me to the guidelines. I didn't see them when I searched for "error reporting."
I am running Powerhome 2.1.4b. I activated the web server. I tried changing the port for the web server and may have selected an improper port. I am now getting the following error message whenever powerhome starts, even after changing the port back to 80 and after deactivating the web server. Appreciate any help.
A critical error occurred at 2011-11-22 11:51:29.589.
PowerHome Version: 2.1.4
Error Number: 35
Error Message: Error calling external object function cancel at line 3 in function f_shutdown of object uo_webserver.
Window: uo_webserver
Object: uo_webserver
Event: f_shutdown
Line: 3
Regards,
Mike

The web server port should not cause a problem if wrong. I think something else bit you. When you come up select no on the activation of timed events and you might try deactivating any controllers. That might be a start. If that don’t result in a change I would copy the DB and ini files and reinstall then copy back those 2 files. One other thing you might try is to copy the web server part of the sample ini to yours.

Just saw this post.
http://www.myx10.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2743&KW=2.1.4 +web+server
Perhaps there is a problem generally with the web server in 2.1.4?
Thanks for the quick reply BeachBum. I'll try a reinstall.

Saw that post and we never did figure what caused it. I’m running web server and socket server on 214 and win7 64bit with no problem on more than 1 system. On my test system I take the defaults but on my live systems each has their own port address. Same with socket server.
