I'm missing some graphics on the built-in web page. It's looking in server/powerhome/web and it seems like it should be server/web. Not sure where to fix this.

All of my custom web pages are fine.

Tony -

To the best of my knowledge all of the web graphics should
be in server/web. They appear both in the web root and in
the "graphics" folder therein.

If you can list several that are missing, I'll double check
where they are and if you can't locate them anywhere I can
always email you the batch!

It seems like some kind of path problem. All of the graphic files are present and accounted for. ;)

I've finally pulled the trigger this weekend and decided to reimage my
machine running powerhome so I figured I'd also upgrade to the 2.1.4 beta
at the same time. I also thought I'd use this as a chance to start from scratch
and rebuild everything since I had a ton of macros and devices in my old db
that were no longer being used. However, when I went to use the unlock key
I got a few years ago it wouldn't work and kept saying it was invalid. So then
I decided to just use my old powerhome.ini and convert my old 2.1 database
to the new version. When I did this everything seemed to work fine and now
the program was recognizing my registration and was working fine to control
my various devices. However, when I went to activate the webserver I
starting getting some critical errors causing me to have to kill the program
via task manager. Even after getting back into the program and disabling the
web server in the preferences I'm still getting the critical error causing me to
have to kill it again. Thankfully I've been able to install powerhome 2.1 in a
VM in virtualbox and have it up and running with my old database (with the
webserver running) so I have some time to try to work through these issues
with the new install.

Here are my questions...

1. Am I able to start from scratch with my old unlock key without converting
my old database over? And if so how do I do it?

2. Has anybody seen a similar error with starting the webserver in the 2.1.4
after upgrading from 2.1? Below is last error I got on it.

A critical error occurred at 2013-03-10 21:54:35.328.

PowerHome Version: 2.1.4
Error Number: 35
Error Message: Error calling external object function cancel at line 3 in
function f_shutdown of object uo_webserver.
Window: uo_webserver
Object: uo_webserver
Event: f_shutdown
Line: 3

Thank for any help!
Pat

Pat,

Your original unlock key will work if you enter your original Reg name when you first launch a new install of PowerHome. Since you have access to your original install (in the virtual), you can find your original Reg name in the Help->About on the main tab. As long as you retain this and your unlock key you're good to reinstall anytime.

Give that a try and if you're still having webserver issues, let me know. Just make sure that you install 2.1.4 in c:\powerhome vs the older c:\program files\powerhome.

Dave.

Thanks for the response Dave!

Changing my Reg name fixed the registration issue I was
having.

However, I'm still getting an error when trying to enable
the webserver. Here's what I did. First I installed
2.1.2 and then rebooted. I then started it up and
entered the registration information which worked and
then I shut down the program. Next I copied the contents
of ph214.zip to c:\powerhome replacing the files there.
I then started it back up to make sure it still started
normally and then shut it down. Next I copied the
contents of ph214_i2cs_patch.zip to c:\powerhome
replacing the files that were there. Then I started it
up to make sure it worked correctly which it did. Then I
enabled the webserver via settings and when I
reinitialized it I got a critical error and now when I
start up the program again I get the following error.

A critical error occurred at 2013-03-11 00:10:25.213.

PowerHome Version: 2.1.4
Error Number: 39
Error Message: Error accessing external object property
autoresolve at line 41 in constructor event of object
uo_webserver.
Window: uo_webserver
Object: uo_webserver
Event: constructor
Line: 41

BTW, I'm just using the default config & database files
that came with the install. Let me know if you need any
other logs or configuration settings.

Thanks!
Pat

Pat,

Follow the steps from the second post here (the regsvr32 one): http://power-home.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2723&PN=1&TP N=3

Restart PowerHome and see if that fixes it.

Dave.

I tried to register the first two manually via the command
prompt commands listed in that post, but they both failed.
I then went and looked in the system32 folder and found
none of the .ocx files that you list in that post where
there so that's why the command was failing. BTW, I'm
running windows 7. Not sure if I mentioned that or if it
matters.

Thanks for all the help!

Pat,

You can download all of the files from here: http:\\www.power-home.com\download\catalyst.zip.

See if that helps.

Dave.

Awesome! That seemed to fix it Dave. Thanks again for all
the help!

Now I just have to read up on how to manually install
everything again since I haven't done it in a few years.
:)

Does anyone have any projections for the release of 2.1.5? Soon (I hope)? A ways away?

Thanks,
Dean

Dave- what is the prognosis for the next update?

Just returned home after seeing you several months ago
and hoped I could install an update on my return, since
it sounded close and I am having lots of "funky" macro
issues, that make no sense.

Insteon formulas that work OK when I use Check Formula to
execute take up to 30-40 seconds to execute when the
macro is played.

So hoping a fresh start might make a difference.

Any fearless forecasts?
