You don't need to guess so much if you refer to the docs.

That looks correct.

Hi Tony - I'll check my cookies. As for the other, to be honest, I'm a big believer in RTFM myself. So, before I posted, I scanned through the manual and the quick start and couldn't find any examples. Is there another doc? Please point me to it as I'm unaware.

I just looked through the docs and, as far as I can tell, only the Help file has info on formula syntax.

The Formula Builder (double-click in a formula box) can help with this, too.

I actually looked in the help file as well. The gross syntax for all the formulas was there, but I couldn't find examples or token definitions.

Aha - formula builder was just what I was looking for. Powerhome ROCKS!

Jeff,

You could change the global or virtual, etc. by keystroke combination by doing the changes from within a macro and then assigning a menu hotkey to the macro. You'll need to restart or reinit in order for the menu hotkey to take effect.

You can view the code in the sample database by opening the PowerHome Explorer and pressing F7 to select a different database to view. The sample database is default located here: c:\program files\powerhome\database\phsample.db.

You can check the syntax and evaluate formulas by double-clicking a column that takes a formula value. This will open the Formula Builder window that will allow you to check a formula and evaluate it. You should also be able to right-click a formula column and select "Check formula" from the popup menu. Any formula that evaluates to "!" has a syntax error. Keep in mind you could get a syntax error if the formula uses variable substitution and variables dont currently contain the expected values.

Brian,

Currently the PowerHome Virtual Controller does not support Insteon devices. Ive thought about doing this, but havent been able to think of a good way to handle virtual links and the like. The virtual controller does support X10, Digital in/out, analog in/out, and Infrared.

Dave.

Thanks Dave - I found a couple of ways since I posted this, but you're right, there are a couple more.

Will try the database swap feature. and the check-formula.

wait - I just did - very helpful.
Thanks!
