I'm having the same error:

this began to happen after install R11.

I have not been having this problem but then I not as complex as most. I turned scan on and found it to start using memory and not releasing it every time it scanned.. I turned SCAN off and closed Insteon Explorer again memory was not released back to the point before I opened it. It appears to have the possibility of a memory leak which will eventually eat up a page file. I also trigger ph_reinitialize every 24 hours which may reduce this..

I thought one of the functions added this time was to NOT store the processed events forever in the Insteon Explorer so it could stay opened. This "fix" may be the culprit.

SDM 235 not working for me. works for some hours and after that, hangs giving me a PLC link loop error.

returned to 308. it seems that when i run it as administrator on the remote desktop console, it works fine.

when the service calls it at boot time, after some hours it hangs. the service software is causing problems. maybe the system account is causing problems. i will try to run it as administrator.

All,

Thanks to living in the Lightning Strike Capital of the World, Ive been without Internet or phone service (Vonage) since last Thursday. We had a house at the front of the subdivision actually get struck by lightning. It blew two 3 foot holes in the roof, the front door off the hinges, and broke windows. Never seen anything like that happen before.

Anyways, it appears that the alpha testers are all having good results with the latest PowerBuilder runtime files. Anybody having problems should shutdown PowerHome and unzip these files into their SYSTEM32 directory. http://www.power-home.com/download/pb903_8836.zip. Overwrite any existing files and restart PowerHome.

Let me know,

Dave.

Well Dave maybe you should think about turning left on I10 to Gulf Breeze. Most of our lightening goes either south in the Gulf on to your area or north to Georgia.

BTW patch installed clean.

One issue I had with all the latest files -- likely just the SDM, however, I never had this at all w/ previous versions:

PH was trying to reinit the SDM ... but got hung up doing so. The SDM was running however, didn't look like it could communicate with the PLC. I tried closing PH and the SDK, but ending up needing to kill the processes to get things going again.

Gustavo,

It's just a warning and doesnt affect performance. Basically it means that Sybase couldnt establish the entry points for "perfmon".

Nothing to worry about.

Dave.

I have not seen any memory issues that I know of... would it be obvious if I did or should I be checking something specific?

Since the upgrade, I haven't seemed to be able to get PH to communicate with SDM, irrespective of whether I use 235 or 308. I get "Smarthome Device Manager ISRESPONDING command failed for Insteon PLC xxxx. Attempting to restart controller."

I've tried manually starting SDM. SDM on it's own works fine, I can send commands through the DM window, isresponding works, PLC accepts commands from the command line fine.. any ideas?

I get the same error, and if I watch the logs for the brief period the SDM comes up I see
download timer started
timerActivate not enabled

I see the same thing starting the SDM by itself, doesnt matter if its 235 or 308.

snhroc,

When you manually launch the SDM, are you using the SDM that is in the PowerHome directory?

It's wierd that the SDM works on it's own but won't work from within PowerHome. Almost everytime, it's a problem with the SDM not being able to see the PLC (usually because the port is wrong).

What version were you previously using that worked fine?

One thing that Ive found problems with is that anytime the SDM is changed, it's best to manually launch it at least once before letting PowerHome automatically launch it. The first manual launch of a new SDM will create the proper registry entries which PowerHome requires. After the manual launch, PowerHome should be able to properly load the SDM after that.

Let me know and we'll get it worked out.

Dave.

Dave,

I'm at work now, so not in front of the PH sstem, but I believe I was at 1.03.4.4. I did the install into a new dir, moved the database, ran phupg etc. etc.

I haven't made any changes to my pre-upgrade database yet, so I guess I could try wiping out the whole thing and doing a clean install and restoring and upgrading the old database?
