Apparently is something that some machines have and others don't, and is sometimes messed up depending on version, but is needed for all this to work.

  | | |
OK... I am teh suck at searching the web.

Question... in my case, is this necessary for the ODBC stuff to work, or will this just keep the eHC stuff from working?

One other thing... after re-reading your previous post... am I supposed to use "ph" as the username and password, or should I use what I set inside powerhome? And I'm assuming I shouldn't use the "encrypted password" checkbox...

 | I'll let the others talk about ODBC.

The ph username and password is only to be used as described here and here, Not in powerhome; unless that happens to also be your username and password in "PowerHome/Explorer/Set Up/Socket Server" section in PowerHome application. (Make sure you have the Socket Server stuff enabled in PowerHome.)

OK... now I feel like a complete 'tard. I changed it to "ph" and "ph", and it works.

In the instructions, it should be made a little more clear that the proper entries here are "ph" and "ph", not the same as the password set for the proxy server or the web server within powerhome. Please.

 Thanks...

I will admit. ZERO testing on W2k3. (I don't have this OS) But did testing on W2k Server.

Also too. is your W2k3 a English version?

All errors (and debug messages) are written to disk in a text file on a day by day basis.

 this file is in:
 C:\eHome\Client-Server\ErrLogs
and will have todays date as the name.

If you want to send it to me I will look at it.

 | Thanks, you made me a hero. Had the new screen up and running before my wife got home. She loves checking in on the puppies as soon as she enters the front door.
You did better than what I had hoped for.

There are dags in that picture? Got a bigger one so I can make out details?

To keep this on-topic: I got this latest version installed, and (not so) miraculously, I can communicate between the PH database and eHome.

I still can't get the socket server to work, but I know that it is working on the PH side, since I do have access to the PH remote control center. Any suggestions?

 Thanks...

Just out of curiosity, what type of screens are those? Are you running that on PC, a Mobile device, or what?

OK... I am finally able to get eHome to see the PH socket server. On to the next issue...

I've turned on the audio, video, and home servers in eHome. But, for some reason, when the screen starts up, the only thing visible is the Video. No HA, no audio.

What gives? I can't figure out what is wrong here.

 Thanks...

I've skipped the Audio and Video for this touchscreen as the location makes it unnecessary.

 | Also I'm waiting for Steve to make it so I don't need to downgrade Winamp.
Having PH control the digital cable music channels via eHome is fine for now.
As far as automation displays go:
I ended up getting 3 Fujitsu Stylistic 3500 from ebay.
 Install Pictures
 Install Slideshow
Need to take new pictures now that I've replaced XLobby with eHome.

John, I had the same exact thing happen to me go to the eHome forum for more on that. I think I made sure the computers' names matched everywhere (client .ini files, etc.) to fix that.

 Manny:

I'm still just trying to run this on the local machine... I went into th .ini files, and anywhere there is a machine name it is set to the name of my server (slothbear).

When the main "eHome Digital Tools" screen comes up, the Video server is in the center and appears to work. The weather works. But nothing else shows up.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing, and have the same issue. The only thing I can think of is that my boot drive is D:\ but eHome is on C:\... can't see why that would be an issue, but I'm grasping at straws here...

Um, as PH isn't the issue I'd feel better if we took this to the eHome Forum.

Also if you like I can start a Zoho screen sharing session with chat so you can see my set-up...

Thanks... it looks like I've got it. Something with the video is hanging the program. I disabled video, and have everything now.

Of course, I just got super-busy, so I won't have much of a chance to work on my screens, but I was able to get the sliders to work for some devices.

 Thanks again...
