These are all standard CC screens (available on the client CC, Remote CC, or web based CC) using the stock PowerHome graphics.

I will put together a video tutorial shortly showing how to use the CC visual design screen.

 Dave.

What I'd like to know about is the sliders! When/how are they updated?

Wow... I'm started to get excited about this again... I've been away for a number of "life events" lately (e.g., GF finally finished her Ph.D., death of a family member), and haven't been following this forum too closely.

I like what I see for the CC, but to be clear... this is for the future version 1.03.4.12, correct? I assume that this is in alpha (I think I read that somewhere)?

 Can someone bring me up-to-date?

This is the normal PH CC, recently made better by a remote version that Dave released.

How might I come by this version?

 Tony:

OK... I'm not trying to be obtuse here... I have downloaded the remote CC and DS stuff... and I have the latest (I think)version of powerhome. I figured out how to get it running... BUT:

My version of PH contains the graphics shown by Dave, but I can't figure out how to incorporate their use. Do I need something special for this?

You just open the CC, right-click on the tab you want to edit, select Open Design View, and start inserting buttons. This is done by entering an ID in the CC Object Properties window, selecting the type of button, and clicking New.

 | Ok, I am back... Some guy was throwing $$$ at me to work with SQL 2005, Access and VB6... Wife has this thing about eating... :) OK. Well, back to my original question.

What can eHome add to this? I can now host Powerhome CC and DS in eHome pretty well and have created there own main screen menu's but as for a screen designer? Dave has the start of one already so don't quite know what I can add here. I am also picking up the UPD message in eHome so you can trigger eHome events and send commands back with the socket server. So... ?????

On another note. I am releasing my Pocket PC remote

 Pic2

If I remember right, Dave mentioned he was doing a Pocket PC version of the CC? Would love to wedge that right into my remote...

 You still there Manny?

Drag and drop sliders for dimming and I'm happy.

I agree that embedding the latest remote CC or html web pages into eHome satisfies the objective of tying both applications together. It follows the KISS principle or the grandma test just fine. Plus it helps PH users out by giving them a nice application that can contain PH and do the eHome stuff.

It still puts the onus of screen design on me (I suck at that.)

 Not sure why you chickened
  out of:
Where I would get to pick on & off or slider graphics for a n # of controls, label them and assign house codes.

Also I wanted to tie eHome remote control into it, so if the wife walked into the kitchen, the motion detector would tell PH to tell eH to start her favorite playlist and flip to the recipe screen. I can do this myself with some 3rd party apps (ph, eventghost, autoit, etc.) but was hoping to keep the application count down. Plus I'm not that smart...so it takes forever and ends up hurting my brain.

 Finally:
I'd rather you work on my other project for some $$$.

maybe he has to sneak in, past the motion sensor (which would alert his wife to him being out somewhere he's not allowed)

I was thinking more along the lines of "barefoot and pregnant".

Or, as Eric Cartman said, "You get your b|tch ass back in the kitchen... and make me some PIE!". I tried that line on my GF. Once.

And...   Going through install testing now and getting ready to release my next version that has support to host Dave's remote CC and DS screens.

Now... Manny seems to want sort of a read the Powerhome DB's and setup basic generic screens. (my early prototype) Some people seem to want a screen designer. (Powerhome has a basic one) Now quite sure what to put next on my plate.

 (Pants? Manny wears pants?)

I was able to reproduce Dave's slider by using ph_getinsteonlevel("DEVICE ID") and ph_setccobjy("TAB ID","OBJ ID",(1160-([LOCAL1]*3.72)))

ph_getinsteonlevel sets the local var [LOCAL1].

ph_setccobjy changes the y coord for the slider "OBJ ID" in tab "TAB ID".

1160 is the lowest vertical position of the slider.
212 is the highest. A difference of 948.

In this case since full on is 255, you have to multiply the level by 3.72 in order for the slider to indcate properly. Of course all these numbers are dependent on your specific CC layout.

I trigger all my CC updates on Insteon Device Change - Any - Any, which calls a macro that is a series of JUMP IFs that checks status and changes CC objects where appropriate.

There is probably a more effecient way to update CC, but I haven't figure that out yet.

What I'd like to know is if Dave can use his sliders to dim/brighten devices? And if so, how?

that would be cool. You'd have to make it wait until you released the mouse button, then basically reverse your lines (read the Y coordinate, translate it to 0 - 255, set the level).
